How it works

Copper (Cu) is one of the world’s oldest and best known antimicrobial agents. Under our patented process, we’ve created a Cuprous Oxide copper compound in nanoparticle form. This allows for an increased surface area, reducing disinfection time from 2+ hours (copper) to just minutes* (Nanoshield).

Electrically charged copper ions attach to viruses and bacteria, stopping the way they work.

Reactive Oxygen Species

The nano-copper reacts with molecules that are produced by bacteria (H2O2 , O2•–) to form a chemical substance called Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS). ROS damages both the proteins and nucleic acids in viruses and bacteria providing an antibacterial and antiviral effect.

Direct Contact

All viruses are surrounded by a protective protein layer that holds the infectious components inside. In order for viruses to spread this layer needs to remain intact. Copper particles are rapidly absorbed into this protein layer bursting their protective wall.

Usage

Our Screen 50,  Screen 100 Optics Range and Screen 188 is our proprietary PET OCA Silicone formulation, specifically designed for application and use on LCD smartphones and touch screen devices. Utilising the optical clarity of PET polymers, proprietary manufacturing and optically clear silicone adhesive, High Touch™ is the only antiviral / antibacterial protective film designed for use on touch screen devices.


High Touch™ Surface Indoor 80 and Surface Outdoor 80UV range is our all-purpose high touchpoint solution for indoor and outdoor usage. A PVC substrate with Acrylic adhesive, specifically formulated for application up to 6 months in high traffic areas. The film is available in both monomeric (indoors) and polymeric with UV stabilizer (outdoors) options.

FAQs

The durability of the film will depend on the traffic frequency of the particular surface. A film applied in areas of frequent handling (e.g.: handles) or high visitor frequency will be subject to repeated abrasion which will reduce its durability (change of appearance, lifting, etc.). It is suggested to replace films upon fair wear and tear. If it is not damaged, the antimicrobial qualities of the film have been tested to last up to 1 year, but may extend long beyond this. A case study in a Japanese Nursing Home was undertaken whereby our film was installed on door handles and handrails at a total of 16 locations. After 6 months, the antiviral activity of the film was tested, and proven to be exactly the same as unused film.

High Touch™ film can be cleaned simply using a dry microfibre cloth. To clean any dirty areas, simply use a damp cloth to wipe down the film’s surface. No special cleaners are necessary although alcohol or bleach based cleaners will not affect the efficacy of the film. A simulated wiping test was undertaken to simulate regular cleaning for 12 months and the film’s efficacy was still the same as it was prior to the simulated wiping.
